What You Need To Know About Browlift & Eyelid Surgery
BROWLIFT
The shape and position of the eyebrows affect the facial expression of a person. If the eyebrows are droopy, the person looks sad and tired. Sagging eyebrows can occur independently of person’s age.
How Is the Surgery Performed?
The surgery made under general anesthesia, and it takes around 1–1.5 hours to complete. The incisions made in the hair-bearing area (behind the hairline): the longer ones at the temples and the smaller in the scalp behind the hairline. The tissues of the forehead fixed in the scalp with screws, which removed after 1–12 days.
The surgery of a brow lift commonly performed in conjunction with an upper eyelid blepharoplasty.
What Should Be Known After Surgery?

After the surgery, the face swells and bruising occurs. During the first 2 days after the surgery, the swelling is greatest; therefore, it is essential to apply regularly ice packs to the affected region;

On the third and fourth days, the swelling starts to subside. Swelling and bruising usually remain up to 3–4 weeks;

The final result of the surgery seen after 4–6 months, when the swelling completely subsides, and the scars are mature;

After the surgery, the course of lymphatic drainage massage on an individual basis is recommended to achieve the best outcome.
EYELID
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove excess skin or fatty deposits from the eyelids. This procedure restores a youthful and refreshed appearance to one’s face. Following this surgery, the face becomes rejuvenated. The upper and lower eyelids can be corrected either during the same procedure or separately.
How Is the Surgery Performed?
The procedure often performed under local anaesthesia, and time in surgery is about 1 hour.
For upper eyelid surgery, an incision made along the fold of the upper eyelid, following its natural contour. Through a parallel incision (the second one) excess skin removed. During the surgery, fatty deposits can be removed as well.
During lower eyelid surgery, fatty deposits can be removed or redistributed. An incision most commonly is placed inside the lower eyelid (so-called transconjunctival approach); thus, this technique requires no external incision.
What Should Be Known After Surgery?

Following the surgery, due to swelling, some patients may experience difficulties closing their eyes, which may cause dry eye syndrome. Artificial tears or lubricating ointment relieve this complication. Temporarily impaired vision can persist up to a few days;

The stitches removed after 4–7 days;

After 2 weeks, the scars become barely visible. The bruising usually disappears within several weeks, while the swelling can persist longer.
