Instead, we highly recommend other types of weight loss surgeries that have been proven to be more successful in helping patients achieve their weight loss goals, such as gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, and gastric plication.

It’s important to note that many patients who have had gastric band surgery may eventually require revision surgery to switch to a more effective weight loss procedure such as gastric sleeve or gastric bypass. While these revision surgeries can be a viable option for some patients, they are often more complicated and expensive than a first-time bypass or sleeve procedure.
